Most Instagrammable Places In London To Eat

The Most Instagrammable Places In London To Eat

London is an Instagrammer’s dream, full of beautiful sights and delicious food everywhere you look. Here are the most Instagrammable places in London to eat!

Like most big cities, London is an absolute smorgasbord of delicious eats and treats. It can be overwhelming to try and narrow down all those incredible offerings and plot your foodie course so you don’t miss anything. This guide to the most Instagrammable places in London will give you inspiration and help you find the yummiest (and prettiest!) food to try during your visit!

Note that I did not include the word “healthy” anywhere in that intro.

A health-conscious post this is not (if you’d like a vegan/healthy food guide to London, drop a comment below)! But if you’re looking for some truly Instagram-worthy food to stalk while in London, I’ve got you covered.

Looking for more London posts? Check out:

Let’s get to the food!

1. Peggy Porschen

116 Ebury St, Belgravia, London

It wouldn’t be a London food guide without Peggy Porschen! Possibly the most Instagrammable place in London, this adorable, pink heaven of a bakeshop is both drool-worthy and Instagram-worthy. I finally visited the infamous Peggy’s on my most recent trip to London, and she did not disappoint.

This place is a haven for Instagrammers and bloggers, so don’t be surprised to see lines of impeccably-dressed girls standing in line for photos by the front door or cameras bigger than their heads at every table. Read the full story about my experience over on Instagram. Ahem.

The cupcakes are on the pricey side, but delicious. If you’re ready and willing to throw down some cash for a baked good (and let’s face it, I usually am), they are seriously yum.

Hours: 8am-8pm (daily)

What to order: The banoffee cupcake (Β£4.50 ). If you’re a fan of bananas, cream or toffee (I know it sounds like a weird combo, but just trust me on this one!) you really shouldn’t miss out on this deliciousness. It’s so dang good.

2. Yolkin

24 Rupert Street, London W1D 6DQ

Macaron. Ice. Cream. Sandwiches. Need I say more?

This adorable pop-up shop is run by London mum (yes, I have to say mum, because it’s London) Sammie Le, and pairs fresh, deliciously flavored macarons with creamy ice cream. She started out with an ice cream cart and is now opening a full shop on April 14, 2018 on Rupert Street!

The name Yolkin comes from Sammie’s quest to find a macaron recipe that didn’t waste the egg yolks! (Macarons are typically made with egg whites only, no yolks, which she found a little sad and wasteful, so she devised a recipe that used the egg white and left the yolk in! Get it?) She also began experimenting with making small batch ice cream using the egg yolks, and the rest is history!

Hours: Check Yolkin on Instagram for current hours!

3. BubblewrapWaffle

24 Wardour St, London W1D 6QJ

If you’ve ever seen a list of the most Instagrammable places in London, you’ve probably come across these mysterious, ubiquitous bubble waffles from BubblewrapWaffle!

A favorite of ‘grammers everywhere, the bubble waffle is a photogenic phenomenon and a staple of any self-respecting foodie’s feed. If you’re heading to London anytime soon, brave the lines and try one out for yourself.

The menu is fairly limited, but they have seasonal specials (currently: custard creme with lemon zest and chocolate brownie topping, hello!) and they do what they do very well. If you’re in the mood for a truly decadent, satisfying dessert, one of their bubble waffles filled with fresh fruit and gelato will hit the spot.

Hours: 12:30pm-10:30pm (daily)

What to order: The Deluxe Lover (strawberries, Nutella and vanilla gelato) or Banana Combo (bananas, dark chocolate gelato, condensed milk) if you’re in the mood for something sweet (Β£6.99). If you’re feeling a bit more peckish (I’m really trying to nonchalantly work my favorite British words in, can you tell?), I recommend opting for the Avocado Egg (salt & pepper eggs plus fresh avocado) for a heartier savory treat (Β£6.99).

4. Bread Ahead

42 North Audley Street, London W1K 6ZR

I met up with some London friends (one half of Lazy Travelers) at Bread Ahead on a recent trip to the UK, and made a slight fool of myself as soon as I walked in because I couldn’t stop snapping photos. This place is bright, airy, beautifully designed, cozy and full of carbs. What more could you want?!

They offer brunch options as well as delicious pastries and freshly baked breads, with multiple locations across London. They even have a stall at Borough Market! However, their Mayfair shop is especially Instagrammable.

After you’ve finished overgramming, grab a cup of tea and snuggle up on one of their cozy couches, or sit by the window and watch the posh locals strut by. It’s the perfect place to relax for a bit. Also, carbs. Did I mention there are lots of carbs?

Hours: 8:30am-5pm (Monday-Friday), 8:30am-6pm (Saturday), 9am-5pm (Sunday)

What to order: One of everything, honestly. But if you have to choose, I’d recommend one of their croissants, donuts or buns. And if you’re stopping by their Borough Market stall and they’ve just put out fresh cheese and olive bread sticks, for the love of all that is holy, get one. Or twelve!

5. Bake

9 Wardour St, London W1D 6PF

You may have seen these Instagram faves popping up on your feed – cute fish-shaped cones filled with soft serve ice cream from London’s Chinatown favorite, Bake!

Bake’s superstar seller is their take on a Japanese Taiyaki – a fish-shaped cake. However, instead of cake, their Taiyaki is a fish-shaped waffle cone (fashioned by their Japanese-imported press) filled with a generous serving of soft serve matcha ice cream.

Hours: 10am-9:30pm (Sunday to Thursday), 10:30am-10pm (Friday & Saturday)

What to order:Β The Taiyaki, of course!

6. Doughnut Time

15 Blenheim Crescent, W11 2EE

Yes, another doughnut shop! I had to, y’all.

With witty names and incredible flavors, Doughnut Time is a unique doughnut shop with lots of options for just about everyone! They have multiple locations (the Notting Hill shop is my personal favorite, but also generally very busy) so you can get your doughnut fix wherever you are in London.

What to order: The Houston, We Have Biscoff (vegan coffee glaze, topped with caramel buttercream, chocolate drizzle and a Lotus biscuit) or the Espresso Patronum (espresso glaze, topped with caramel buttercream, chocolate mocha beans, and dusted with cocoa powder). Can you say YUM?

Hours: 10am-10pm, or until they sell out (Monday-Saturday), 11am-9pm (Sunday)

7. Katsute 1oo

100 Islington High St, London N1 8EG

This Japanese tea house is a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of modern-day London, and a nice little escape!

Their home-baked desserts and large drinks menu are the perfect antidote to overplayed Instagram favorites and super-sweet snacks. They serve tea by the pot and by the cup, plus non-leaf teas and takeaway options too.

What To Order: Katsute 100’s beautiful matcha crepe cake (Β£5.45) is a light, angelic phenomenon. I don’t know how they do it, but it’s a piece of art.

Hours: 11am-8pm (daily)

8. La Churreria

Stall 23 at KERB Camden Market

Traditional Spanish churros dipped in gooey Belgian chocolate. Do I have your attention yet?

Seriously, if you’ve ever had a really good, hot, fresh churro, you know how magical they are. Add high-quality Belgian chocolate and the whole thing becomes, well, a bit ridiculous. A simple dessert but perfectly executed. Highly recommend.

La Churreria is a small stall located in Camden Market, which takes a little stalking to find. Worth it!

What To Order: The churros. With chocolate. Duh.

Hours: 11am-6pm (Monday to Thursday), 11am-7pm (Friday to Sunday)

9. Milk Train

44 Bedford St, London WC2E 7NR

Milk Train is high on the list of most Instagrammable places in London to eat, and for good reason. They haven’t just simply redone a tired old dessert, they have come up with something that is both imaginative and whimsical (while also being delicious).

While this is clearly a dessert that is doin’ it for the ‘gram, it’s super fun and worth it to this confectionery wonder in person!

Hours: CLOSED Monday, 1pm-9pm (Tuesday to Thursday), 1pm-10pm (Friday & Saturday), 1pm-8pm (Sunday)

What to order: Milk Train’s super ‘grammable favorite is their fun soft serve perched atop a cloud of candy floss (AKA cotton candy) which is wrapped around a waffle cone (Β£5.95).

10. AIDA Shoreditch

133 Shoreditch High St, London E1 6JE

Chances are, if you’ve been on Instagram lately, you’ve seen one of AIDA’s eye-catching rose lattes popping up on your feed!

AIDA is an independent concept store in Shoreditch offering Scandinavian-inspired women’s and men’s clothes, as well as homewares and a cute little cafe.

Hours: 10:30am-6:30pm (Monday to Saturday), 12pm-5:30pm (Sunday)

What to order: The rose matcha latte (Β£2.50) is AIDA’s crowning glory, and for good reason. Its rich pink and red hue is unmissable, and a matcha latte is the perfect pick-me-up in the middle of a long day.

11. Crosstown Doughnuts

4 Broadwick St, Soho, London W1F 0DA

With multiple store locations and doughnut stockists (sign me up to a “doughnut stockist,” please), Crosstown Doughnuts is one of London’s finest! They offer a great vegan menu, with lots of yummy options.

Also, pink doughnuts? Is there anything more ‘grammable? I think not.

Hours: 8am-10pm (Monday to Thursday), 8am-11pm (Friday), 9am-11pm (Saturday), 9am-8pm (Sunday)

What to order: The vegan blood orange doughnut, which is a pink sourdough doughnut, topped with lemon thyme glaze, vanilla bean crumble and fresh lemon thyme. I’m drooling already.

12. Palm Vaults

411 Mare St, London E8 1HY

Following closely behind Peggy’s with the title of “London’s most Instagrammed cafe” is Hackney’s Palm Vaults. Remember when I said there wouldn’t be much in the way of health food on this list? Well, here’s an exception.

Palm Vaults is a pastel dream of a cafe, covered in palms and plants and beautiful, colorful lattes, as well as yummy food. They have quite a few vegan and gluten-free options, if that’s your jam. Think rose, aqua and lavender lattes, avocado toast with vegan coconut “bacon,” all the rage.

They serve a mean brunch, so check them out if you want something delicious, healthy and ‘gram-worthy!

Hours: 8:30am-6pm (Mon-Thurs), 8:30am-7pm (Fri), 9am-7pm (Sat) & 9am-6pm (Sun)

What to order: Unleash The Dragon smoothie bowl, made with dragon fruit, mango, banana, mint, passion fruit and coconut milk (Β£8).

More info: Website | Instagram

13. Farm Girl

59A Portobello Rd, London W11 3DB

The original Farm Girl in Notting Hill is one of the most Instagrammable places in London! Farm Girl is an Australian comfort food cafe with a healthy, fresh, colorful menu and charming design. Their staff are super sweet too! Photogenic pink tables dot the outside seating area and gorgeous warm drinks (think blue, pink and black matcha lattes) make it the perfect spot to cozy up and ‘gram away.

There are tons of delicious vegan and gluten free options too, if that’s your jam.

Be forewarned – it’s a popular spot and lines are generally long, so come early unless you want to wait!

Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm (Monday to Friday), 9am-6pm (Saturday & Sunday)

What to order: The aΓ§ai bowl (organic frozen Amazonian berries blended with banana & almond milk topped with coconut shavings, winter fruits & chia seeds, Β£8) or avocado toast (lemon juice, fresh coriander & a sprinkle of pomegranate, also Β£8) are ‘grammable staples, but all of their dishes are beautifully prepared! Add a Butterfly latte (brilliant blue matcha!) for an extra dose of pretty on your table.

14. Morty & Bob’s

1 Westgate Street, Hackney, London E8 3RL

Do you like melty, gooey cheese? Do you like toasty, delicious carbs? (I’m picturing a lot of furious head nodding right about here.)

Unless you’re lactose intolerant (solidarity, pals), you probably DO.

Morty & Bob’s is a London staple and a true comfort food supplier. They offer a delicious menu and are located in a beautiful, fancy-looking London loft, giving it that hidden gem vibe. Think: plants in every corner, handmade wooden tables, floor-to-ceiling windows, and their crown jewel…the grilled cheese toasty!

Hours: 9am-5pm (Monday to Friday), 10am-5pm (Saturday & Sunday)

What to order: Do I even have to say it? Grilled. Cheese. Yes.

15. Granger & Co

175 Westbourne Grove, London W11 2SB

Granger & Co’s ricotta pancakes are fluffy and fantastic, not to mention filling! (Is that enough “f words” in one sentence?)

They offer lots of other brunch staples (as well as lunch and dinner!) at multiple locations across London, but their Notting Hill location is especially cozy and cute, and makes the perfect stop for fueling up before or after a nice little neighborhood wander.

Hours: 7am-11pm (Monday to Saturday), 8am-10:30pm (Sunday)

What to order: The ricotta hotcakes with banana and honeycomb butter (Β£12.75). Need I say more?

16. Red Rooster

45 Curtain Road, London EC2A 3PT

Red Rooster is your spot for American comfort food classics with a modern twist! Inspired by Harlem classics and run with pride, they even have a house gospel choir.
They also have a dish called Obama short ribs. I mean. Does it get any better?

Hours: Their hours can be a bit wonky, so check the website for current daily hours!

What to order: The Tenner, which is their signature fried chicken on a brioche bun with kimchi mayo, cheddar, lettuce, and pickles (Β£10, fancy that).

17. Naked Dough

Westfield London, Ariel Way, Shepherd’s Bush, London, W12 7GF

Naked Dough does exactly what it says on the tin (as the Brits say), offering up delectable variations on everyone’s favorite guilty pleasure treat, cookie dough! They also have seasonal specials, like the fun Easter dough pictured above.

They’ve perfected the art of egg-less cookie dough, and also use heat-treated flours in their doughs, making it 100% safe to eat. No more nagging mom voice in the back of your head warning you that you’ll die of salmonella! Win!

What To Order: Feeling cheeky? Get the Nak-Ed Sheeran, made of salted caramel and honeycomb. Vegan? They’ve got you covered with the Cookie Monster, made of vegan cookies and creme (two scoops, Β£3).

Hours: 10am-10pm (Monday-Saturday), 12-6pm (Sunday)

18. Hummingbird Cafe

133 Portobello Rd, London W11 2DY

Let’s start off with a disclaimer: the first time I went to London a few years back, I got a cupcake from Hummingbird Bakery and was pretty underwhelmed. But their rainbow cake is a different story.

It’s pretty as heck as well as being delicious, which is a winning combo in my book!

They serve many kinds of gorgeous ombrΓ© cakes and other baked goods (but let’s face it, I’m most intrigued by these crazy cakes, y’all). This American-style bakery in London now has seven different locations and keeps Londoners nice and sugared up!

Hours: 10am-6pm (Monday to Friday), 9am-6:30pm (Saturday), 11am-5:30pm (Sunday)

What to order: A slice of their heavenly rainbow cake!

19. Polo Bar

176 Bishopsgate, London EC2M 4NQ

Their menu offers everything from the traditional English breakfast to their Instagram-famous, giant, towering pancake stacks, which come with a challenge. So if you’re up for trying to devour a gigantic pile of ‘cakes, Polo Bar is one of the most Instagrammable places in London!

Hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (no, really!)

What to order:Β The rest of their fare is pretty standard in terms of presentation, but the giant pancake stack is what brings the ‘gram!

20. Maitre Choux

15 Harrington Rd, Kensington, London SW7 3ES

If you’re an e’clair connoisseur (or just like to pretend you are!), Maitre Choux is a must-visit.

These colorful, meticulously crafted beauties are tiny works of art. Perhaps a tiny bit steep on the price point (they run around Β£6 each), but worth it for that perfect ‘gram and delicious flavors.

Hours: 8am-8pm (Monday to Friday), 10am-8pm (Saturday & Sunday)

What to order: Anything that strikes your fancy! It’s all Instagram-worthy, to be honest.

  9. I plan on going to London in a few months for a family weekend trip and I am so excited. I know London is really loved for their wacky desserts and I really want to try something there that is over the top!

  10. Somehow I’m suddenly craving donuts πŸ™‚ haha! These all look awesome and picture perfect. I studied abroad in London and loved it! Unfortunately, I was too broke to eat out much haha. When I go back, these spots will be high on my list. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Donuts are my FAVE. So many good donut shops in London too! I know how it is being broke in a pricy city! (I live in NYC – ha!) Hope you can try some of them during your next trip!

  11. OMG!! When I’m in London I’ll be running directly to the Yolkin’s macaron. ice cream sandwiches and probably try them all out. Every visit to London should be sweet, right? Love all your great choices!

  12. This post is too much! Great inspiration and awesome ideas, saved it, rolled upon it, remember for my next visit in London (in WTM I guess later this year)

  13. I haven’t tried any of these places, but I did try a few similar desserts in NYC. They all look so good. I think first on my list is the cotton candy ice cream cone.

  14. Although i’m not big on desserts, with gorgeous photos like yours, i’ll give a try to some of these for sure πŸ™‚

  15. Omg I’ve only got one day in London next month and now I’ve got 20 places I want to go! I was pretty set on going to Yolkin before but there are so many places on here that look amazing that I’m really not sure where to go now πŸ€”

  17. Yum!!! Reading this post made me so hungry. Such beautiful desserts and cafes in London. Can;t wait to visit(and eat) on my next trip!

  18. Sooo it sounds like this may be the greatest visit to London ever. Any trip that includes dozens of gorgeous noms is one that I need to go on!

  19. Oh man. These are decadent! Would need to walk a lot with all that eating! I would love to try the Paul Vaults. The chai seed dish looks delicious and healthy. Thanks for sharing!

    1. No kidding! Lots of walking needed to balance all that sugar out πŸ˜‰ Palm Vaults is a great healthier option! More healthy bits coming soon in another London food post…

  20. This was fantastic! Think I gained 10 pounds looking at all the colorful awesome pics! Always wanted to visit London. This may seal the deal!

    1. Ha! I gained a lot testing desserts for this post too, trust me πŸ˜‰ London is such a fun city to visit – and the prettiest!

  21. I will take one of everything, please! I definitely did not take advantage of London’s dessert scene like I should have when we were living there. I think that’s reason enough to go back. πŸ™‚

  22. Oh my goodness, these all look incredibly beautiful and sound amazingly delicious! Could I just go into a sugar coma and try them all-would that be socially acceptable? LOL!

  23. Girl!!! I am freaking drooling over here, I mean seriously!! Can’t wait to try some of those when I take my family to London in August! How am I going to decide?! Thanks for this post, love it!

  24. Fortunately I had yummy fresh asparagus, salad, and barbecued tofu for dinner, so these photos didn’t tempt me to break into a Monterey Peninsula bakery tonight (like Layers or Pavel’s). But that Katsute matcha crepe cake definitely caught my eye! It reminded me of my mother’s 12-layer cake. So much work to make, I’ve only made it once or twice in my life, but so delicious.

    1. This is a “Mom” comment, haha! Your healthy dinner definitely sounds better for you than anything on this list πŸ˜‰ A 12-layer cake sounds like it would take some serious patience and skill!

  25. Could these photos be ANY MORE hunger inducing?! Wow, where do I even start here?! Next goal when I go to London – to visit all these places!

    1. Oh no! It was probably during the period they were closed and setting up for their new store opening! I’d try again on your next trip – they opened up on April 14th on Rupert Street.

  26. Omg I am drooling over here!! I’ve never had a super big desire to go to London but NOW I DO! hahah. I am a dessert-fiend and even more so when they are as instagram-worthy as the treats above πŸ™‚ LOVE LOVE LOVE. Thanks for sharing! For sure pinning this for a future trip!

  27. Ok brb while I go to London and eat ALL these delicious treats – especially the Macaron ice-cream sandwich and the waffles… But seriously I’ve bookmarked this post for the next time I’m in the capital

  28. I’ll never understand the fishy-ice-cream-cone trend, but I fully support macaron ice cream sandwiches! This post is making me hungry for dessert, and it’s only 9:15 am here!

  29. Fabulous post and I love your writing style! I’ve been to a few of these, but will save this list for my next visit! Have you tried Chin Chin in Camden Market giant toasted marshmallows over decadent hot cocoa!

    1. That means a lot, thank you Hilary! πŸ™‚ I meant to add Chin Chin to this list and totally spaced! Duh. I have been, and YUM. I may have to do a part 2!

  30. What an awesome guide! These places look incredible! Thanks for such a wonderfully detailed article! Definitely be using this on my next visit to Europe soon xx

  31. Macaron ice cream sandwiches and cookie dough!! Say no more!! I am going to London next week and I may end up overloading on sugar because of this post. The colorful cheerfulness of this post if so welcome on this gloomy Irish morning. πŸ™‚

    1. The cookie dough is possibly my favorite (so simple but so good). Perfect timing for your trip to London! Sorry in advance for the sugar overload πŸ˜‰ But enjoy your trip! Glad it provided a bit of colorful cheer on a gloomy day!

  32. Should not have read this when I’m hungry haha!! Made me miss London so much – so many Gram worthy spots – that don’t just look delicious I bet actually are so yum, love love LOVED this!!
